EGL is a vertically integrated operator in the energy sector and is active both in the electricity and in the natural gas market.
The liberalisation of the two markets, that was initiated and promoted by the European Community at the end of the nineties, has enabled new operators to enter the market and given consumers the opportunity to choose their own supplier. In this new context, EGL Italia has therefore positioned itself as an energy partner for large and small Italian companies.
The electricity and natural gas markets have different characteristics and a distinct normative of reference. However much they are often integrated in one supply chain. Above all these physical markets are associated with complementary markets; Green Certificates, Electricity Efficiency Shares, Certification from renewable sources, Emissions Trading and with thermoelectric production.
