In Italy EGL has gas-fired combined-cycle power plants with a total capacity of 1.800 MW (EGL's proprietary share). This represents the biggest investment of a company in setting up new power plants in Italy (approximately 1 billion Euros), and also the greatest technological input into maximising energy efficiency and minimising the environmental impact.
Moreover EGL is a major player in long-term contracts to commercialise energy generated from renewable sources. Today EGL's portfolio in Italy includes 230 MW from wind power.
