Environment

EGL Italia considers respect for the environment to be an integral part of the company's development policy. For this reason, it uses the best technology available, which ensures the highest energy efficiency and reduced environmental impact, which is a priority and a market opportunity.

EGL Group sources 14% of its own production from hydroelectric power plants, and is active in developing wind power projects in Scandinavia, Germany and in Italy.

The new thermoelectric power plants are combined-cycle plants, fuelled by natural gas, with certified emission levels lower than the parameters stated in the European regulations. In addition, adherence to the EMAS protocol guarantees the reduction of the environmental impact. The EMAS protocol is a process of continuous improvement using analysis and testing, with participation and monitoring by institutions.

To highlight this commitment and the seriousness of the company policy, EGL Italia belongs to the Kyoto Club, a non-profit organisation made up of companies committed to reaching the targets to reduce greenhouse gas emissions agreed on in the Kyoto Pact.
