Energy Trading

International energy trading is EGL's core business, and involves trading on energy exchanges and broker platforms all over Europe as well as directly with counterparties (OTC trading), dealing with actual physical quantities of energy, as well as purely financial products.

EGL is trading various commodities (such as electricity, natural gas, oil and other types of energy) and is a successful trader of CO2 certificates, so-called "green certificates" and energy from renewable sources.

EGL's trading activities are focused mainly on the liberalised markets of Western Europe, although the company is becoming increasingly involved in the rapidly evolving Southeastern European markets. EGL’s trading activities are decentralised in trading hubs:

        -  Central Europe
        -  Italy
        -  Iberia
        -  Nordics & Baltics
        -  UK

One of the leading centres of excellence for market analysis in its sector is supporting EGL's trading activitites. The centre's research services are available to customers as well as to the EGL Group.

EGL's risk management is responsible for maintaining an optimal risk/benefit ratio in the trading business. It applies to all levels and all departments, and is part of the company's culture and philosophy.
