Head Energy Settlement
The Energy Settlement group which I manage is a good example of the dynamism and growth of EGL. When I first started at EGL in 2003, the department had seven employees. Today it has more than thirty. Our range of tasks has also grown over the years: our team is responsible for, among other things, drawing up the schedules for virtually the whole of EGL, coordinating power plant deployment, inputting specific processes into the trading system and managing supply in Switzerland, as well as being involved in large-scale projects such as market liberalisation in Switzerland.
It is a pleasure to lead and support my team in the completion of these highly complex tasks. And that’s not all. I like the corporate culture at EGL, its internationality and diversity, its innovativeness and the confidence with which we approach new projects. In this dynamic environment, we constantly find creative approaches to problems and use productive strengths in order to bring EGL further. I find this extremely inspiring.
For me, the individual is always at the heart of a company. I would like to keep bringing my employees another step forward so that they can bring EGL forward. I want to ensure that my employees are able to take responsibility for their own work in an optimistic and harmonious environment. As a manager, I also believe it is crucial to be able to set the right priorities for me and for my team. That is the only way we can work efficiently and successfully and also maintain the right – and important – work-life balance.
