EGL is a European energy trading company with its own assets. It is a member of the Axpo Group, which is one of Switzerland's largest energy suppliers.

EGL's activities are organised in three strategic divisions:

Energy Trading & Origination
EGL’s trading activity transcends the boundaries of markets and commodities. It is trading both exchange-based and over the counter and runs a customer business with structured products and innovative services (origination) as well.

Assets
When deploying its own assets – power-generating capacity, transport infrastructure and long-term procurement contracts –, EGL’s goal is always to optimise their economic effectiveness and to integrate them into its trading activities to maximise profitability.

Gas Supply & Southeast Europe
EGL administers its own natural gas portfolio in order to fire its power plants and
to sell natural gas on the international markets. For the most part, it obtains its
natural gas supplies directly from producers. EGL is also investing in the
development of transport infrastructure.

EGL's activities are geared toward bulk customers such as manufacturing
companies, redistributors and power plant operators. In order to identify
and meet customers' needs efficiently, EGL has subsidiaries representing
the company in numerous European markets. This Pan-European
presence enables EGL to take advantage of opportunities which arise
from trading between different markets.
